Team Arrow's Rotorua Trip...

... was a great success. Well done to Michaela! She rode the 70 km race with Helen and Tim. She surprised herself by finishing near the top, as did Tim and Helen.

Naomi had a great ride as well, getting a very creditable placing in the 40 km race, and thoroughly enjoying the experience.

Interclubs at Halcombe Sat 3rd Aug

Lyall will be taking the Team Arrow crew across to Halcombe this weekend. There'll be a new circuit to try out - Lyall's not sure of the distance, but thinks the laps are about 20 k's.

Meet at the rugby club rooms at Halcombe. Good riding!

Cold ears?

Do you get ear aches riding on these winter days? If so, check out the Garneau Ear cover!

I got one from the Bike Shed today and it's a cracker! It's kind of like a head band, in polyester, and it has a wider part that covers the ears snugly. Velcro fastening in the back and works well with the helmet. Well worth it!

Fielding Festival of Cycling - 14 & 15 September

Glenys from Bike Manawatu advises that the Fielding Festival of Cycling has teams events for the first time this year. http://www.feildingfestivalofcycling.co.nz/

New in 2013 - Teams of up to six.
Form a team and ride together, with the 4th rider over the line setting the teams official time.  Team s can enter in 20km, 50km and 90km events.

Team Arrow - Rotorua and Halcombe on Sat 27 July

Lyall tells me that he's off to Halcombe tomorrow to support junior riders who are racing in the Interclub, while the rest of Team Arrow are going to Rotorua. All the best, guys!
